  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Looking for a good holiday wassail recipe

I had this one Christmas served hot with rum and it was really good. there are a ton of recipes online, each different but none of them sound like what I had. If anyone here has tried some and has a recipe they can share please do. Thanks.

1 quart orange juice
1/2 cup lemon juice
5 tea bags
2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons whole cloves
3 cinnamon sticks

Directions:

Combine fruit juices. Steep tea in 2 1/2 qts boiling water for 5-10 minutes. Remove tea bags. In sauce pan combine remaining ingredients with 1 qt cold water - bring to a boil and boil 3 minutes. Or This One this one is 14 servings

Ingredients:
1 quart apple juice
1 quart orange juice
2 cups cranberry juice
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1 can pineapple nectar
1 cup sugar
4 cinnamon sticks
8 whole allspice
Navel orange slices

Directions:

Combine all ingredients in listed order to your crockpot (4 qt. or larger) and cook on low setting for about 4 hours or until heated to desired temperature.

You may also cook it on high initially for an hour and reduce the heat to save time. This reheats well for 3 days.

Hmm, both sound good but when do I put in the rum? I've heard some people say during cooking and some say afterward. I guess how much alcohol you want to remain would determine that. Thanks John.
