I listen to allot of different stuff and occasionally listen to reggae but I'm looking for something a little different that still has that tropical island flavor, any suggestions?

probably not exactly what you're looking for, but if you want some "isom" tropical music, find the buena vista social club.

These may bee way off from what you are looking for, but an older band is the Melodians, which is older reggae, or you could check out Matis Yahu, Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers, or the Mighty Mighty Bosstones..... Hope these help....

Forget Dave and Jimmy. Look into the following:

1) Dennis Wilson- Pacific Ocean Blue
2) Rodriguez- Cold Fact
3) Vampire Weekend- Contra

Get free Pandora account and you can make your own "stations". I listen to Habana All Stars, Habana Libre, Tito Puente, Salsa Caliente, that kind of stuff. You can tailor it to fit your tastes.
