I haven't been around for a bit because Rose has been back in the hospital for the last week. Same dam thing. So what I am understanding is that when she gets a virus her airways collapse and they call this asthma which it is, but I am connecting to many dots to believe that this is not from the environment. I am not going to type up everything but what I need to find out is what type of filtration devise that will pull out very tiny things like mold, bacteria and viruses. I do not have much money left as this has been a very draining year. so I will have to create this or build it but I need to know more about what I need to do and use. I can buy filters and create a housing to run it through the ac but I just at am a loss if this will work or will work at a level I need. I have added uv lights inside the ac manifold and bleached the house many times. I have dropped the humidity in the house to 45% from 55%.

I just don't know what to do other than try and keep the virus away from her. Its almost to the point of pulling her from school and public and I just don't want that for her. My Rose is coming home today but now it is just waiting for it to happen again

So if you know filtration like I need pm me

My first thought is what would happen if she stayed with a relative that is not in a high pollen, allergy area of the state or the country?

Do you think that might have a positive affect on her health?

Just throwing it out here Joe ..

My thoughts and prayer are with you and your family.

Have you seen an allergist and a ear/nose/throat specialist? I have had some pretty terrible allergic type reactions that doctors couldn't figure out the trigger. Recently, I've had some terrible obstructive sleep apnea issues. Turns out that the structure of my sinuses and airway were part of the trouble and I had a small procedure to help correct it. But shortly after my procedure, I got a very terrible sinus infection due to mold exposure in the building where I was living in Galveston. I left school and came back home to Austin to recover. Eight weeks later, and I'm almost through with this infection.

I agree with @Smoqman. Perhaps she could stay with friends or relatives for a while who live in a different climate or in a region with sufficiently different atmospheric allergens. This way you can have a better idea if the allergic trigger is in the air where you live.

This kind of thing is rough. Find doctors who are competent that you trust. That's important.

Let me know if I can assist in any way.

this was my thoughts... i hate to say this, as my source is "TV"... but it might be something in the house that is causing this? i think it was one of those "shock" type of shows (monsters inside me, etc) and someone basically had a similar deal... went to the hospital, came home, got sick (lather, rinse, repeat). they found some weird mold in the house that caused it. maybe if she can stay outside of the house for a bit, you might be able to see if something in the house is causing it?

my prayers, thoughts, and good vibes are being sent to Rose and your family... this little trooper needs it

First and foremost your daughter, you, and your family are in my prayers... I have a daughter that has severe asthma but I have no suggestions at this point, hoping to find some insight here myself. Watching your children suffer and not knowing what to do is the absolute worst for a parent and I will do whatever I can to help brother.

I'll keep your family in my thoughts!

I will echo what other's have stated here, it is highly likely an environmental issue. I grew up with severe asthma and suffered with partially obstructed airways and allergies to just about everything. When I moved for college, all of a sudden everything disappeared. Things I had once been highly allergic to such as pollen and grasses no longer bothered me, turns out the house I was in had several different strains of mold that had been growing in the walls for decades, which was causing all my issues.

Try taking her on a vacation somewhere and see if it helps sort things out. I wish I was in a position to provide more than just my experiences and well wishes.

My middle boy, Noah, has had a few health problems over the years - one of them is reactive airway and even pneumonia. He aspirated myconium in the womb and this started all his troubles in that arena.

We used to fight wheezing and infections. His airway attacks were heartbreaking. Of course, they would usually happen in the middle of the night. He would panic (why wouldn't he?) and that would make it even worse. He couldn't play with the other kids without running out of breath and wheezing. "Daddy, how come I am sick all the time?" is the question I would get. Still do, sometimes.

Because of his breathing troubles, at our request, the doctor had him do a sleep study. Theyput him on a CPAP. His problems disappeared almost overnight. He now runs without trouble and hasn't had an airway attack or pneumonia in 4 years (knock on wood). We still occasionally need to use the nebulizer, but it is rare. Maybe 2-3 times a year. 4 years on the CPAP now and it has been a great blessing for him and us.

I think the key is humidity. The CPAP has a water reservoir that increases the humidity of the air he breathes. Same thing could be done with a humidifier.

As stated above, you need to find good doctors and don't give up. "We don't know" isn't an answer and you shouldn't accept that from your medical team. These things take time to figure out, but you will figure it out. Be active in Rose's health care and explore possibilities. If the doctor reaches a dead end, start a new trail. One of Noah's other problems took 3 years to figure out. Talk about frustrating and scary. We went down a lot of dead ends with that one.

I wish Rose all the best and my prayers to all of you. It can be very scary and heartbreaking when your child is so sick. Hang in there.

Thank you all for the support. We have mold tests preformed and all negative results, I am just wanting more information on it all. The one thing I can not do is stand by doing nothing waiting for the next round to happen.

Amen to that Brother! Have you ruled out anaphylaxis? Allergy to peanuts? She could've eaten something cooked in peanut oil. Just a thought. I'm continuing to pray for you and Rose!
