I need the collective wisdom of you all! I am going to my first lounge later this month, I am taking a trip and I will be going to the Vault in Meridian Idaho…I know some basic rules, not to stack dimes, I will bring my own tools etc…I plan to buy from their humidor, I have my eye on some Pardons they may have….but I would like to know what other things I should know! I don’t want to make a fool of myself!
Now that's something I never thought to look for in a cigar shop
Don't talk politics unless everyone is wearing the same "Vote for ........shirt" and you agree with them.
Most shops will be happy to cut for you and there should be plenty of lighters sitting on the tables,
Sometimes sitting quietly and just enjoying a cigar is a nice way to spend your time.
If the shop isn't too busy engage the tobacconist, most shop owners love talking to and educating their patrons.
Respect the humidor, you don't need to touch every cigar, if you drop it you've bought it.
Do not wear powerful perfume or cologne,
Ask before lighting a cigarette or flavored tobacco.
Never ever tell someone how to smoke, light, or select a cigar unless asked.
If you are going to smoke one buy two or three or if they sell drinks have several. It's hard to make a living with the money they make on a single cigar.
Basic rules of civility and conversation are always appreciated, you'll have a great time, everyone there will have at least one thing in common, they enjoy cigars!
