  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Travels for work have me in Maine this week. I knew there was a reason I leve in NC. Cold as hell here with snow yesterday and more on the way for Wednesday. To top that off, the smoking laws in Maine appear to ban smoking just about anywhere. The one haven I have found is a smoking Hotel room. At least it warm in here!

Currently enjoying an Oliva Series V. This one is a Special V Figurado. Love the SunGrown wrapper with the Ligero filler. Great quality from Oliva, as usual.

Was here in 05 a few times, found one local that was pretty dingy looking and had less than 20 boxes in the humidor, but did carry a lot of pipes. Haven't taken the chance to venture out nor had the time to check it out this trip to see if any improvements.

Brought plenty of cigars with me, so hopefully will hold out for 1-2 per day in the hotel room.

I just saw a quick snippet on CNN while jones'n for a smoke in Portland OR. The Global Health Community does not intend to stop being a PIA until tobacco is illegal for everyone, everwhere on the planet. No joke.

And to think that tabacco is such an integral part of history!

These folks need to get a grip. While I will admit that tobacco in the hands of children is something that must be dealt with (through harsher penalties is my suggestion), their over-the-top berating of consenting adults must stop. Yes, tobacco and those who enjoy it are an easy target and the flavor of the month in terms of who to belittle. Hell, there are far more serious threats to the health of Americans and people in general, not to mention some of the other events going on in our world today.

I did not see these zealots posted outside the numerous mortgage offices that were springing up like Crab Grass a few years ago.

Let me stop before I turn this into a political debate. Bottom line... they can lick my ashtray!

Well, they tried that with booze and lost. I'm afraid they learned from the lesson and now its a slow steady inch by inch ban.

I found one!!! I had some free time this afternoon and had brought a pair of LLBean boots with me. When I put them on yesterday, I noticed that the seams had come undone on the rear of one of them. I decided to go to the LLBean store in Freeport to see if the could be repaired. They replaced them- these boots are 15 years old. awesome guarantee!

Left LLBean and was returning to the interstate, just before the on ramp, there is a Freeport Trading Company- Wine and cigars. Walk-in humidor with a good selection. Salesman came in the humidor, we talked about a lot of the cigars he has in stock- spent anout 20 minutes talking with him. I picked out a Tatuaje RC184- never seen one anywhere. Went and had dinner- 30 Steamed clams and a lobster. Returned to the hotel and about to fire up the RC184 and do a little bit of work.

Smoking was allowed in the cigar shop, but I didn't have the hour+ time to smoke it and NO SMOKING in the rental car:argh:
