  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I listen to Whiskycast podcast with Mark Gillespie. A few weeks back, I heard about Maker's Mark coming up with a new expression. This week, Mark was talking to them about it, again, and they released the name and bottle design.

Here's just one of the news links about it:
Buourbon Buzz Story

Apparently, they used a "seared" barrel, rather than a scorched barrel. Being a huge fan of Maker's, I'm really excited about this new expression!

The flavor is incredible. It has an intense, sweet, oaky toast aroma and, at 94 proof, it is unbelievably smooth.
That bottle looks great but I get nervous when liquors are labeled "smooth." Still, at 94 proof it's hard to make anything too smooth but I just don't want them go chasing the remnants of the premium Vodka market and watering down their great product. Really looking forward to this one though.
