  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

To start with, pardon the picture, the poor camera didn't have much to work with. Back in August/September of last year I chomped on the MAN O'WAR deal that CI was offering. I think it was 20 cigars of various sizes. When I got them I let 'em sit for a couple of weeks, then tried one. I was most emphatically unimpressed. Very little smoke, and completely devoid of flavor. I figured what the heck, I probably need to give them some time. So, I waited a couple of weeks and tried again. Same result. I decided that I'd never smoke another one, but couldn't bring myself to throw them away, and wasn't willing to inflict them upon someone else in a bomb. So I held on to them. Tonight, as I sat in my motel room digging through my travel box, I came upon one all the way down at the bottom. I decided to give it one last try, some 6 months after the original purchase. I am very pleasantly surprised to say that I am really enjoying it. Very nice flavors, abundant smoke, and a decent burn. I would say it's a medium body. I am glad I didn't pitch 'em.

Funny how age has an effect on cigars. Nice review. Thanks!
Yeah, I've always known it had a significant effect, but I never expected this kind of turn around. In my experience age can turn a good cigar into a really good one, and a really good cigar into a great one, but in this case it turned an unsmokeable cigar into a really good smoke. That's quite a jump in my book.

I had one of these sticks in my humi for a month or so. But I was with a friend who said he liked a good peppery smoke. I'd heard that the Man O' War was perfect for that, so I passed it on.

I had one last weekend while playing cards and really enjoyed it. Planning on picking up a fiver or so in the future.

The MOW has great flavor. With that said, I will never buy another one. I'm cursed. Awhile back I purchased a CB 20 pack. Not one of those little bastards burned properly. They were fine for everybody else...even with MY cigars. Who knows :angerFU:

I have a few of these but have never burned one. I've heard both good and poor reviews...but it's fairly cheap, so I prefer to keep my expectations low. That way I can be pleased if it's a good smoke :)
