Having grown up in Miami, I'm a long time Miami fan. The Miami-FSU game is my favorite sporting event of the year. It is always a great game to me. Interestingly, I don't "hate" FSU (I can't help but like Bobby Bowden); I just want Miami to win.

I'm having a great night. Watching my favorite game and smoking an '04 Taboada Gran Piramide.

It's interesting you say this. I saw an interview with Bowden and he expressed the same thoughts.

All of the players on both teams are just animals. I guess this is more of the coachs' fault. Weapons charges, etc. I would like to are FSU win even though I am a Gator fan because Miami is more like a pro football team to the fans- they don't travel at all. I am glad that college football is back though!

Wow, that is a pretty big generalization. No question that was the case for Miami under Jimmy Johnson, but that was quite a while back. Some similar sentiments could have been said for UF under Spurrier. That's what I love about college ball - teams really change over a few years.

While where on the subject what ever happened to Howard Schnellenberger? Is he still at FAU? I really liked him when he was at Miami and then he left and headed over to Louisville where he stayed for like 10 years. Never did understand why he left Miami though he was doing so good there.
