Check out goruck. They have a simplistic design but are rock solid. Lifetime warranty as well. I have the GR1 and GR2 and love them both.

love it, I have the side trip brief case (study and carry friendly) i sold the moab sling huge mistake....they stand by their product too....I grabbed a push for the nursing junk and carry friendly on the go (and a 3finger case friendly too ;D)

Kifaru, Kuiu, Mystery Ranch, and badlands are all great packs. It really depends what the intended use is. I love my kifaru.

I use a 5.11 rush 72 for my pack on the road and am really happy with it. Plenty of room and my laptop fits in the sleeve for the water bladder nicely
