  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I was thinking about this the other day.
Why is it that men need a "man cave"?
Why can't women need a woman cave?
When did a man's house become HER castle?
At what point did men bow down and listen to women in an overwhelming majority?
Why can women get degrees in feminist studies but a man cannot get a degree in misogynist studies? I think there is something wrong with a man being exiled from the home because he enjoys cigars, or drinking or "gawdy" decorations.

I just put a two tier shelving system in my guest bedroom for my fermentors. My humidor is in the living room as well as a cigar jar on top of the book shelf in the corner of the living room. Our closet has my 150qt coolidor. I have beer glasses everywhere. It might not even so much be that I have the power but that my wife and I treat each other as equals especially when it comes to the house.

Why the man cave epidemic? To go beyond that why are many man caves spartan sheds, the garage, or the basement? Why can't it be an integral part of the house that only smoking is allowed in there? When I get a new home that's the plans here. I will install air systems and stuff to dedicate a room to studies in misogyny.

I do understand the segregation of smoking because I wouldn't want the smoke in my house unless I had a serious air handling system in the room I intend to smoke.

Maybe a few of us should get together and start a new school where men learn misogyny to balance out the man-hating lifetime watching feminists!:grinFU:

Too funny!

Reminds me of the other day - my son called his mother 'toots'. :headroll:

My wife would love a 'smoke-room': she likes to smoke cigars too, so she would not be calling it the 'man-cave', though she tends to be a bit 'anti-feminist'... :wifey:

For me the "man cave" isn't necessarily about being banished from the house as much it is a place to escape from the wife/kid. :dunno: Otherwise we pretty much share the house, but we both have similar feelings about stuff. For example you're more apt to find aquariums and cages with critters than you are to find decorative items. Though the kid has been taking over the house more and more with his stuff...I think after Christmas we're going to have to do some donating of toys so that we're not overrun with stuff.
