  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Mmm...Head

:wtf: Yeah got you with that title didn't I :wtf:

Cracked open up a bottle of Rogue Irish Style Lager for dinner tonight. Got a great pour and a perfect amount of head. Very fragrant and the head provided a nice hoppy bitterness that complemented the beer itself very well. It's been a long day and I sort of zoned out while watching the bubbles rise from the bottom of the glass. I've got about two swallows left and I'm sad it's almost gone :sadstare:. Should have gotten two bottles.

No joke, Larry... invited him for beer and brats Sat. night to my house... HMPH! No one called about beer, tonight!?

Dan... I was telling Aaron today that you, him, and I should start a "Beer Tasting" night.. every week or couple weeks. Put together some Pick 6'ers from Mac's and we all try 2 or 3 different varieties of beers and get all nerdy comparing their nuiances. And of course, how well they pair with our respective cigars!!

Well Frank if you can deal with me sittin' around in my skivvies while I eat my dinner and drink, you're more than welcome to have come over :stretchgr. Beer tasting and cigars sounds like a winning idea to me. I'd be up for weekly, thought might be some weeks I couldn't make it depending on what was goin' down.

Dan, if you like the lager, definitely check out Rogue's Hazelnut Brown. It seems to pair fantastically with just about any cigar.
Will do, I've been looking for stuff that pairs well with cigars. Thanks .

I have found that a coffee stout pairs well with cigars. Well most stouts that really. I don't think real hoppy beers go well with cigars the flavors are too sharp and compete with each other big time.

I'm a fan of coffee stouts myself. Will have to try a cigar with one. Thanks .

Does sound good... I think Shafly's has a coffee stout. I could see how that would go well with cigars. It's like wines and food... similar traits go well. Red wines with heavier foods... Dark beers with dark, rich cigars. Coffee, chocolate, rich flavors seem to pair with cigars well.

And I agree about the hoppy stuff, too sharp and you miss some of the complexities of the cigar.

They do and it's pretty darn good.
