Legends of the Playground
Undercover
#4
Montecristo (Cuban)
Year: 2004 (At least that was when it was gifted to me)
Size: 5" x 40 ring
Medium bodied
Total smoke time: approx 35 minutes
Construction - excellent
Wrapper - Light brown. Comparable to brown sugar
Burn - perfect
1st Third
Very mild at first but with some hint of what it could and would become. I detected just a hint of grassy flavor at the start. Produced a medium amount of smoke and was very easy to draw on. By the end of this third, the grassiness was undetectable.
2nd Third
Small flavor, not peppery but just a tad bit sweet almost creamy, at least to my palate. Smoke volume was still medium in amount. The best third of the cigar.
3rd Third
Settled down to a definite tobacco taste. Still medium strength and finished out very nicely. The burn was perefect the entire time, from beginning to end.
I have a few more of these (from 2003) tucked away and I'm anxious to see what they taste like by the end of 2005. As usual, a quality Monte that did not disappoint.
