  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

More Eeekk!

Had a lady bring in an injured owl this morning. Poor fella was blind in both eyes and obviously hadn't eaten in a while. He was in bad shape so we euthanized him. Normally, especially in the warmer months, when we euthanize a hawk or owl we have to quickly bag them or we get infested with Louse Flies. Well today we didn't get it bagged in time, but had only a single pest.

These are the only insect that gives me the willies. They cling to your clothes and skin really well and they fly/dart around like crazy.

Think more like a tick with wings, only they move quick. They're creepy. Funny story though...a number of years ago we euthanized a hawk and probably 30 of these things abandoned ship. We were swatting and spraying chemicals like crazy, they were everywhere. Thought we'd gotten them all and was cleaning up. All of a sudden I hear someone scream...I look over just in time to see a co-worker nail himself in the nuts :headroll:. You guessed it, there was a fly on him. I don't think I've ever laughed so hard in my life!

To bad about the Owl. There one of my top five birds of prey. No matter what part in nature fly's play, they are truely disgusting!

I had to revisit this one. I love this title, it reminds me of my wife. So I'm in the living room watching the game, wifey is in the kitchen cooking and talking on the phone. All of a sudden I hear a loud scream, a couple bangs and then here she comes running into the room with me. It's getting cold outside and when this happens the rodents make there way into your home. As be the case a mouse was in the drawer inside a pot holder that she attempted to put her hand in! No Eeeeeeek! more like Aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh....! followed by tears, she can't any creepy crawler big or small!
Just thought I share my Eeeeeek experience!
