  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

so, quality control, and quality of tobacco (in order to pump out these greater numbers) has gone down.
No, it hasn't. Variations from crop to crop occur, but he wouldn't know because he doesn't smoke Fuente nor has he been smoking long enough to know the difference.

Go to any cigar board and you'll hear the same thing every year: "This year's Anejo/Opus are smoking great!" or "This year's Anejo/Opus isn't as good as prior years." - never fails. Everyone has their own opinion, which is great. But general statements like what he made are worthless and quite frankly, intellectually dishonest.

Picked up an 858 Rosado and a Hemingway Rosado. Smoked the Hemi. I have to say this was the worst Fuente cigar I have ever smoked (and I smoke a lot of Fuentes) and one of the worst, overall, that I have ever tasted. One of my buddies tried one and thought it was so bad it was worth a phone call to another of our friends to warn him. I hope the 858 is better... JMO, YMMV.

Strange.

I've smoked half a box of H.Classic Rosados and they are fantastic, and everyone else around here who has smoked them has tried to buy the rest of the box.

Of course, YMMV is the standard here, especially with individual palates, but IMO, it's a great medium bodied stick.

Is there a difference between an 858 Sungrown and an 858 Rosado? I went to my B&M today, and got some 858 Sungrown singles, but didn't look that closely at the box...

You sure? Google 2010 rosado.. You will find nothing about a 2010... 2009 maybe... But not 2010... You will however find numerous threads on the Hemingway classic and signature rosados which did just get released.
Yes, there are 8-5-8 Rosado Sun Growns out again this year. I know of at least 3 shops that have gotten them in.

Jeff, I agree on the RSG Classic. Smoked one today...great stick! It was good to meet you yesterday!

I'd say less demand - local B&M in Syracuse still has some Anejo 48's and 49's from LAST year. I scored a full box of 2010 release 46 and a full box of Sharks with no problem. Owner was glad to sell them to me.

The availability of those might have to do with the oppressive 75% tobacco tax here in NY.

Fucking politicians!:grinFU:
