The most I have ever personally paid for a cigar would be around the $180 mark.... bought a bunch of different Dunhills and Davidoffs and if I average out the price it worked out to be around the $180 per cigar... hard to say what one was the most expensive but I think that would be the estupendo followed by a chateau Margeaux

Alright guys, so far a few of you have paid some big bucks for some cigars, but at the same time no one has commented on whether or not those cigars were actually that good. By that good I mean, were the $250, $300, $400, etc.. cigars really that much better than lots of sticks that can be had for say somewhere between $25 and $50 to $60 a stick? :smt102 Just curious. Inquiring minds want to know.

Personally I have had a few sticks that were in the $25 to $30 range and I would have to say they were exceptional. I just can't seem to bring myself to believe that a cigar that would cost that much money could really be that much better than a $30 to $50 stick.

So what's the word? :smt102 Just how good are those cigars? :smt102

Is any cigar worth $100, $200, $500 or $800? Good question and the best answer I've ever heard was "I don't know if it's worth it, but that's what it will cost you to smoke one."
The most I've paid is $80. I had nine clients to dinner in Vegas a couple of years ago and bought 10 Opus for $800 and change. The bad part is some of them left em burning in the ashtray after 5 or 6 puffs.
The priceless part, watching my non-smoking partner's eyes roll back in his head, just before passing out, when he saw the receipt, which also included dinner, drinks and wine in addition to the cigars.

Hmm.hard to say...

I have smoked $400-500 cigars regularly (Dunhills, pre embargo BGMs and Davi's) although there are some cigars that are priceless such as, for instance, Toboada custom rolled Escobars that were rolled for specially for Pablo Escobar before his death and can not ever be replaced for any price.

Seg..

The most expensive cigar I have smoked Is a OpusX Double Corona: $40.00. I was young, and gouged. Live and Learn. It was damn good though.

Cuaba Salamones for about $35 at a the local LCDH, just after it became regular production. I later bought the 10 box online for $130. Nowadays, I wouldn't pay more than about $30 for a stick, since there's nothing that I REALLY want to try.

I paid $18 American in Canada for a Dip #2. The very first Habano I ever purchased. Unfortunatly it had a terrible grassy taste to it. I'm prety sure it was fake, but have not tried any Dips since either.

Um you guys are insane. :crosseyed I don't think I have paid more than $3, and havent smoked any worth more than $5 at JR, Romeo Y Julieta Vintage Robusto. I couldn't imagine smoking 60 dollars much less $200 (unless I find a $200 for $60 but I don't think that one will ever happen).

IIRC, because it's been 2 years since I started smoking, the most I paid was around $35 for a Tobaoda and the same for a Morales custom roll cigar.

You had better be seriously loaded to spend 300 bucks on a cigar. I might spend that on a 10 year wedding aniversary, my daughter's wedding or something like that...thats about it.
