  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Minor question...not a major deal. It involves the new desktop I purchased a couple of months ago.

I have noticed the problem from day 1 but it hasn't been annoying enough to investigate. A couple of times a day, when I go to move my mouse, the pointer on the screen will jump all the way across to a random spot. In other words, I am getting ready to click on my start button, for example, and all the sudden the pointer is in the upper right hand corner of the screen. It only happens when I put my hand on the mouse to begin moving it. It happens only a few times a day.

Mouse is a usb.

Faulty mouse?
Bad drivers?

My money is on the mouse since it only happens when I go to move it.

Thoughts?

It's probably your damned avatar! I bet if you look at the random movements, it's probably timed about when your head pops out for a look. Hell, it does that to mine sometimes when I'm reading one of your posts!

hmmm, I love my wireless laser. This is so precise. Not sure what could be causing that. Does the PC have another USB port you could try?

problem is probably due to your computer being afraid that you'll get bombed again.....

or from downloading porn.... :blob:

If it is a laser then the obvious solution is to simply calibrate the confinement of the disfunctional data transference beam.
Either that or it is operator headspace alignment error. Maybe even rectal - cranium inversion syndrome.

Seems to have been the optical corded mouse that came with the system. Hooked up the optical wireless and all seems well.
