  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

My cigar was so good that...

I ended up "hot boxing" it! I have never done that before and I was wondering if there was a cooling off period between puffs.

It was a Davidoff (I never had one before tonight) Millennium PC. I was thinking at one point that I wish I was smoking a bigger stick like a robusto since it was surprisingly good. I guess I was over zealous and puffed to often. It ended up very bitter until I let it cool off.

Any off you experience this problem?

Sometimes when I'm really enjoying a smoke I'll find myself taking two puffs in pretty quick succession. I try to only do that in the first 1/3rd though, when it won't affect the taste much, if at all.

I find slowing down my puffs makes the cigar more enjoyable. Also I read that when u puff two quickly the ash becomes more pointy. Ash should stay round and flat headed. Thats when u know that u are puffing appropriately.:smokingbo

You know, that used to happen to me. I remember some of my first times with Moro he kept on saying "do it slower" and i did noticed that it would get bitter too fast.
But the last couple of times that i smoked a cigar (A Cubao and an Oliva Serie G) i took my time, i mean really took my time and then noticed that it didn't get bitter so fast, till the very end like an inch before the bud, even less. So, it was great.

So yeah, even if you liked it so much it really is worth smoking it slower, taking your time and space. Davidoffs are very good.

I host a weekly herf with my fellow troops and once in a while we get a Soldier who totally hoovers the stick so that the whole thing looks like a flaming cone head. The challenge is keeping the cigar from having an uneven run. I tell these guys to slow down, and they tell me they can't help it because they, "haven't had a cigar that tasted this good." What was it they were smoking? Well, Reyes Family Premiers as a matter of fact.

the more I drink the faster I smoke, I'm sure it's rare condition that only I have, and oh yea, the millenniums are Yummmms!
No, not really. But I tend to do the opposite...I drink faster when I smoke. Give me a churchill on a nice night and I can be wrecked by the end of the thing.
First thing I thought of --I guess all guys think alike.
Yup!!
