  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I had an opportunity to smoke one of my favorite sticks that had several years of age on it. A tat artista. Thank you Diesel for your generosity.
I did some indiscriminate bombing and Diesel retailiated.

I sat down after lunch to enjoy a book I am reading titled Strangers by Dean Koontz. I lit the stick and started reading how Ginger Weiss was losing her mind after performing a surgical procedure on a patient. The stick was somewhat peppery, spicy and I tasted some coffee. I continued reading until I tasted a change in the stick. I began tasting some earthy and OMG some leathery tones. This began after about 1/3 of the stick had been consumed. I placed the book down to further focus on what I was smoking. While concentrating on the stick the taste of nuts came in. To be specific, walnuts.img038.jpg

There also seemed to be a taste of Black pepper, earthy and leathery tones, with a coffee chaser. It was great. The pepper was gone about 2/3 into the stick and of all things milk was added to the coffee which gave a creamy, leathery walnutty flavour. The pepper returned for a moment then left and what remained was a creamy leather taste to the end.
I have never really concentrated on a stick in the past and laughed when someone spoke of tasting leather and earth. I laugh no more and will be enjoying my sticks alot more in the future. Thanks again Diesel. This is a review from a noobie so all suggestions will be appreciated.:chat:

What did you think of the differences between the aged stick & the fresh ones Doc? I had one of the aged ones from Ron a few months ago. I felt it was a bit more smooth & less spicy. Much creamer.

My thought exactly. The aged stick was peppery in the beginning but was completely gone by the end of the first 1/3.
