So I've been seeing a few pics of these cigars floating around here lately, and I can't help notice the striking similarity of the Special "S" band and the old El Centurion band, which happens to be one of my all time favorite Pepin sticks, of which I only have 1 left.

DOes anyone know if the blend for the SPecial "S" is the same as the Centurions?

Thanks in advance...I know there'll be lots of feedback on this.

Excellent info right outta the gate there. I may have to seek these out as I was a huge fan of the centurions.

From what I'm told this is the El Centurion blend. While the Pepins won't outright admit it I have it on very good authority from multiple sources they are one and the same.

I'm no Jerepedia so I will differ to him on the blend but they don't smoke the same to me.

Well, El Centurion was only made in 2007, so it is 5 years old. So I would expect them to smoke differently.

Pepin is using different tobacco now days (some) compared to the first five years. (03-08) Gone are the days of Paul Palmer, Tropical and TACUBA. The man knows his recipes but the basil is not organic anymore IMO. He can remake Blacks for Pete, El C's for himself and they're not going to be the same. Forget the sidebar of different years crop variables. Close but know cigar.
