My mom ran over a peacock

No joke. It was walking right in the road. Fortunately it ducked and only lost a feather. But my question is, how do you not see a peacock? It was at night, and peacocks are reflective as shit. I honestly don't know how you could miss one, especially if it's right in front of you.

My godfather has a car business across from the zoo and he would put all the clean cars out just to have all the peacocks come over and crap on 'em!

Are they raised for food or for their feathers or what? How do they taste in relation to bald eagle or whooping crane? I gots ta know...
