  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Draw tools have their own following as to what works. I've bought nearly every draw tool there is from at least 12 years from Carlitos Nubber to the Thompsons Draw Poker to what is out there now. What seems to work best is to have at least 3 to 4 crochet-like hooks on the shaft so that you can turn it to grab the offending plug of tobacco that seems to always cause issues. Without those hooks then the insertion of the tool only serves to open it for a short while because the opening will swell from the heat and cause the original issue of being plugged. One has to guide the shaft of the tool through the cigar without it going through the wrapper at an angle which is what the Draw Poker tried to do....a center punch action that didn't go off-center. As far as a Nubber Tool goes.....having at least two prongs will keep the cigar from pin-wheeling on you which is like chasing a loose straw in your drinks and we all know how funny that looks.

Honestly I am order the Perfect Draw Tool after the holidays, it look like something that is more than a poor try at fixing a complexed problem.

The guy who brain child the Perfect Draw is incorporated some ideas from dentistry, into to his invention. He has several good u-tubes on his web-site that make total sense to me.

I thought about making some angled notches in my Thompson draw tool to extract the offending material. But the Modus tool I just got a deal on has several of them already. It has a built in two prong nub tool also. It is VERY well made and has a great weight to it.

Honestly I watched ever one of the Videos on the Perfect Draw web-site, call the inventor to talk, (nice guy). Honestly when you think about the information he tell you it make sense.

The last nail in the Coffin was Glen's Shoot Out at Cigar Obcession. Perfect Draw v/s Modus.

As soon as the Christmas mail has slows down I am buying a Perfect Draw, my DYI punches a good hole, but heat expand Tabacco around the hole, and it is punch time again., and again.

Perfect Draw creates an air channel, for air to move through, removes a little tobacco. IMHO it is a killer design.
