Nat Sherman Timeless Review
Posted on September 11, 2012 by BrandonCK
Nat Sherman, a brand many people smoked many years ago but that had started to get lost in the shuffle of todays many brands. Enter Michael Herklots, Executive Director of Brand Development, and Nat Sherman has re-entered the market with a bang with the new Nat Sherman Timeless. Recently scored as high as a 93 in Cigar Insider for the No. 2, this cigar has created quite the buzz around the cigar world. What makes this cigar truly stand out is that each size is not blended to taste the same, rather they kept the filler ratio the same which causes each size to smoke a bit differently. Nat Sherman also tested blends with over 200 retailers and consumers to get feedback before releasing this stick to the market, something you rarely see in this business, but that proved to be a winning combo. Today we will be looking at the Hermoso size Nat Sherman Timeless.
Nat Sherman Timeless Cigars
Size: Robusto 5 ½ x 54
Wrapper: Honduran
Binder: Dominican Republic
Filler: Nicaraguan
Strength: Medium
Flavor: Medium-Full
Cost: $7.00/stick or $125.95/box of 20
Appearance: The Hermoso size Nat Sherman Timeless looks big but doesnt feel as big to me The wrapper is a medium chocolate brown color with a very slight oily sheen to it. There are a couple of minor veins running through the wrapper but nothing major. The wrapper is silky to the touch with some small bumps along the length. The band is very old school looking, with the center piece looking like an old clock face. Dark gray, gold, and light yellow adorn the band in a simplicity that is inviting.

Pre-light Aroma: The wrapper on the Nat Sherman Timeless has a faint scent of sweet tobacco. The foot smells of a musty grass scent with a faint spice mixed in. Its such a light spice scent I cant pinpoint what spice it might be. The dry draw is as open as you could ask for with a very light hay flavor.
Nat Sherman Timeless Cigars
The first puffs of the Nat Sherman Timeless brings clouds of wispy, white smoke through a very easy draw. It takes little effort to produce a mouthful of flavorful smoke, a wonderful testament to the construction of this beauty. The flavors remind me of buttered popcorn, which my cohorts here at Cigar King thought was quite funny. It is a creamy, slightly salty flavor that I dont often pick up but have before. The creamy smoke leaves a lasting taste of vanilla on the palate and you can pick up a feint citrus flavor through the nose. The burn line through the first third was sharp and the ash felt strong up to an inch before I ashed it.
Nat Sherman Timeless Cigars
Towards the end of the first third and heavily into the 2nd third I start to get a espresso bean flavor along with the creaminess. The espresso flavor makes for a nice combo with the vanilla bean and continues throughout this middle portion. This is where the cigar really shines and you can really get a lot of nice flavors at this point. They last on the palate in a nice way but dont overpower the next puff. Smoke production continues to be strong and the burn line straight without a touch-up to this point.
Nat Sherman Timeless Cigars
The final third picks up more earthy flavors, with a nice woody oak flavor coming on. The cream and salty flavors are still hanging around as well. The flavors blend nicely throughout this stick and the final third is no different in that regard. This cigar finishes well and is another I wouldnt be surprised to see on a lot of best of the year lists. It isnt so strong to overpower a mild cigar lover but is strong enough to keep a fuller bodied smoker interested throughout.
Cigar King Staff Quotes:
-Joe Incredibly easy draw and great flavor. Perfect early day medium bodied smoke.
- Paul Nat Sherman has come back around on this one. Been a long time coming for them.
- Josh The Nat Sherman Timeless is a winner. They came on strong with this release.
-Mitchel You can tell they use exquisite well aged tobaccos. Very smooth and flavorful.
