I searched and didn't find a distinct answer. I'm having trouble finding info on how many cigars I can bring back into the U.S. without paying duties. These will be NC cigars.

There is no limit to how many, just a 100 limit before you have to pay duties on them. When on a ship in international waters, same rules apply is the 100 sticks.
Yea thanks for reminding me I forgot the number as well. I think I brought about that many back from DR when I went a few years ago.

Its always a good idea to have a nice receipt from CI or some US cigar store for your bandless beauties. Makes the question and answer very easy.

<---- Taking notes

I'll be in upstate NY next month with my mother, visiting my Grandmother. They are talking about heading to Canada to hit some casinos and I was wondering about going back and forth across the boarder with a few stick. This post is answering a lot of the questions I as having.

I need to dig up my last CI receipt where I ordered 3 boxes and a 15 ct. bundle back in Jan.

i'm not sure i follow?
If you are bringing "bandless" cigars through customs and declaring them to be other than cuban, its good to have a receipt proving that. The first thing they will assume is that they are cuban. You can get a receipt from any shop you buy from. If the cigars are clearly banded you have no problem. It just keeps down the noise and hassle when traveling through customs to have "documentation".

I understand that. Every B&M I've been to doesn't really have an itemized receipt, just the amount I paid, so I doubt that'd be helpful.

You mentioned CI receipts. Would that be if I brought my own box, and needed proof so I could return with it?

whether they are cuban or not, it might be easier to have documentation showing that they are not just to stop any questions
