Man let's try to get this back on track shall we, but those cards/flyers do make a nice souvenier.
Any decent hotel will offer free WiFi so your set there. Best way to get on mailing lists is just visit the hotel/casino website and sign up for the players club card. You really only need two,

The M Life Players Club Good For: Bellagio, MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, The Mirage, Luxor, Excalibur, New York New York, Monte Carlo, and ARIA Las Vegas.
MGM properties card

the Caesars Total Rewards Card Good for :Bally's, Paris, Harrahs, Flamingo, Caesars Palace, Imperial Palace , Planet Hollywood and Rio All Suites.
Ceasars player club

you'll basically be covered for all the major casinos on the strip and once you've signed up they'll send you any offers that they may have cause gaming is how they make there money. Your probably not going to reach baller status playing the penny slots but you might get a buffet coupon or a nice key chain.

Another piece of advice is don't really make too many plans. Pick 2-3 things you really want to do and play the rest by ear. Talk to the people at the tables, ask your bartender, and play it by ear.

Best first bet in Vegas Bro,
When you go to the front desk to check into a hotel, theyll ask for credit card & driver's license. slip a folded $20 bill under these and ask the clerk if there are any complimentary upgrades available :eyebrow:. Be direct and friendly.
I works all the time !

But, depending on occupancy, its a killer 25th floor suite or a luv tub room.

Here is my Vegas 2 cents...

(1.) Hotel - I have fallen in love with the Cosmopolitan! There I said it, up to date on tech, gaming, amenities, (3) pools, 800 sqft terrace suites, and the like... coupled with the fact that it is so new (DEC. 2010) the people still care about their jobs and making an impression. I have stayed there a total of 5 nights in the last 3 months and almost have enough points for another stay.

(2.) Gaming - tables and sports book nod goes to the Bellagio (walking distance from the Cosmo = is a huge plus)... plus they are cigar friendly. I also always seem to run into celebrities while I'm there, if you're into that sort of stuff. For slots and what not, that is a crap shoot, but Cosmo is still is the newest, hence newest stuff.

(3.) Food - Steak = Del Frisco Double Eagle (plus they have a cigar patio) or Hamburger = Holstiens @ the cosmo (Kobe burgers, tons of beer, and liquid nitrogen deserts).

(4.) Cigars - tons of places to smoke, few places to buy... best bet if you're not a Fuente whore (read Casa Fuente) is @ the shops in the Venetian... although I would take my own and always do.

(5.) Random stuff - XS at the Wynn is/was one of the most insane night club nights of my life and there is a bar somewhere that is entirely made of ice (room, walls, glasses, etc) everything that is pretty cool as well... PLUS don't forget, you can go to any pool, mind you some have covers, but they welcome it.

Hope that helps....

PM if you have any questions.

Alcohol melts ice at low temps. Unless it's a vary weak drink it'll melt the "glass" very quickly - just saying...

Joe
my suspicion based on observations of these types of places is that the people there don't care. they are doing vodka shots out of ice glasses while sporting knee high boots an feaux white fox fur vests.

in other words, not much time for the glass to melt.

I have been to 5 below in vegas. I assume this is the ice bar you are talking about. The glasses are made of thick ice, I would say half inch thick all around, more on the bottom. They serve primarily vodka drinks from what I recall. It was an experience, everything inside is made of ice and you don't notice the cold that much until you leave. You do have to wear a parka and gloves upon entry and your time is limited.
