  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Need lighter reviews

That xivar does look sweet! What im using now is a Coleman Jet Lighter. Its pretty good and made by colibri apparently. I picked it up from target for about 15 bucks so with that price tag im satisfied.

I got a Ronson from Wal-Mart. Best lighter I have ever had. It is no show piece, but it looks pretty nice. I have had it for over a year, always lights when there is fuel in it and does not leak. Best part is, I paid less that $4.00.

It has lasted much longer that most of my friends name brand torches. I will try to get a pic up soon.

I primarily use a Blazer CG-001. It works great, holds a ton of butane, and I always know when to refill it. I also have a Blazer Zippo insert (works fine, doesn't hold much butane), and a handful of Ronson Jet-Lites (great deal at ~$3/each, but they run out of fuel without warning). I'm not a fan of most Colibris, but I received a free Colibri Figurado with a magazine subscription, and it's a decent (but heavy) lighter.

yea diesel has a point. i had a firebird that was great and all but some damn cadet stole mine... so for a while i just used the ronson, they are great for the price not to mention are pretty wind resistant. i light up a good size stoogie with one on the beach on a hella-windy night( I know its bad form to smoke in a windy place but i had been drinkin). so anyway... if you really want to pay the big price go ahead... IMO your just paying for the extra flame, which means you run out of butane faster.

I have a very nice Colibri tripple flame with a bilt in punch (in case I don't have a cutter with me).

I am looking for a very nice and big desk top for the man room, any ideas?

I also am not a colibri fan. I'm trying to lean towards something pretty nice though. I actually like how much my friends lighter weighs. It feels like your holding something of quality. I'm looking at the Xikar and the lower dupont lines.

The vector tri-pump is often one I hear talking about "looking cool" but I've used one and they're built like shit.

The vector "deluxe table lighter" seems intriguing though.

I personally would stay away from everything Vector... Just a word of caution from personal experience.

I have the Enigma - actually I bought the original on discount. It started to get 'loose' at the joints because of the rivit-design. The gun-metal finish wears after a while in your pocket (I carry it everywhere). About two weeks ago, I went to a local Xikar event & spoke with the rep (red-headed beauty) and she informed me that they have redesigned the Enigma. It's made in a new factory with better quality, they removed the rivits, put in a more sturdy flame adjustment & made the flip cap one solid piece & added a automatic mechanism to open when you push down on the 'switch'. (She replaced mine with the new version on the spot!!!)

Now I carry it (still everywhere) but in a 'sheath' made for Xikar lighters. I love the two-flame design, because it's efficient yet doesn't waste or over-cook your sticks like many do with a 3-flame. So it uses more fuel & doesn't last as long as the single-flame, yet it will light 10-20 sticks easily, depending on how you light. If it's a good stick, I usually toast the end until lit, but on a regular or in a rush, I'll puff while lighting... Does it really matter? I don't know.

But I stand by my lighter - I love it. I recommed it.
If I lost it, I would buy another just like it.

Even though when I first bought it I was pissed, thought I got had, now I'm in love with it. It was slightly dinged, scratched etc. Took it to get cert. Bought a refill attachment for quantiple refined butane. Now I use it daily. Adjusted the ping screw under the hood and am now I'm happier then a pig in fill in the rest. A Dupont Ligne 2 Paladium from Ebay. I know most are fakes. I did my homework, got 130.00 back from the sale after I told him I wasn't satisfied with the description. And ended up paying 150.00 for a $700.00 lighter. I'm pretty happy. And now I adjusted the hood screw. Pinnng baby, Pinnnnggggg!

I have a Cigars International branded Xikar that was a freebie promotion one week. I have not had a problem with it in 5 months. You can adjust the flame really high...which I like because these days I've been toasting my sticks rather than puffing them lit.

I have a brushed chrome Vector table torch I got from Mark @cigarmony. It's worked great for me so far, but I would also recommend the Ronson that was previously mentioned. They work great, and for the price you can't beat them. I've had bad experiences with anything Colibri.

If you are looking for a really nice, dependable, and stylish lighter with a lifetime guarantee I would look into im Corona. I love mine although they are a bit more expensive (around 150)

For a non-dressy lighter that's affordable and indestructable the Blazer is my choice. Huge fuel reservoir is ideal for cigar smokers and it's well designed too.
