What do you plan to photograph most of the time? Action/sports, portraits, street photography? You'll probably end up with most of your money invested in lenses, since you'll want to put the best glass on the camera as possible. If you're looking to save money, I would suggest a T1i or T3 to start (body only), and get a good lens or two.

Unless you already have lenses, that's going to be a tough budget. Glass is the key when it come to photography.
