I've been smoking for a year or so now but really, the only tobacco I ever buy are different blends from my local tobacconist. I've tried numerous aromatic blends; vanillas, cherries, and some nondescript sweet cavendish blends. I think it's about time to finally try some brand name tins everyone raves about but I need a starting point. Anyone have suggestions on a blend to start with?

I always refer to tobaccoreviews.com
They have thousands of blends with multiple reviews.

Rattray Hall O' the Wynd is great
Frog Morton is great - a touch of Latakia
GL Pease makes loads with latakia & perique

I would suggest sampling some good vapers... Trying a few here & there is half the fun!
And because everyone's tastes differ, finding something that you really enjoy is so gratifying & worth the few dissagreeable blends that we all innevitably endure.

For me it's Prince Albert, Carter Hall, Half & Half, and any multitude of other "drugstore" tobacco's. Don't knock 'em until you try them for yourself.

i'm no pro when it comes to blending but give this a try.

50% red ribbon
50% union square

rub out the US and mix with the red ribbon, let it "mingle" in a mason jar for a week, they you have yourself a sweet and creamy no bite smoke.. i call it red square.
