New Chaveta

When i first started rolling a friend made me a nice chaveta, i broke my tenon saw a few days ago and decided to make a new one from what was left of the blade

Speak of chavetas... do you guys sharpen yours?

I put an edge on it but its not sharp as such

I kind of clean up the edge a bit but don't really sharpen it so much.

I know your asking Marc and im sure he will answer but i tried with my knife sharpener and it wouldnt touch the edge, too hard i guess but it was a saw in an earlier life so im sure hardened, i used a Grinder

The one I got from wlt was knocked down with a grinder. first thing I did was file it so I could get on the triple oil stone. the one I got from Jeorge came like a razor. the one I like the most, (in pix you'll see) higher carbon old as dirt, an epray find I will touch up with a fine mini file.

Cool, maybe I'll file mine down a bit, I have no access to a grinder at this point
