This is not the Sopranos we are talking about, this is a real time Greek Mafia figure who is now in the process of telling his story by way of a book deal, movie deal, and mini-series. A Contract was rumored to have been signed yesterday I have heard, and we are just waiting for confirmation from both sides. As many know the mafia stories are always a huge entertainment story and mafia guys love smoking cigars. So the two combined make for a huge marketing opportunity.
I was able to confirm yesterday by a personal phone call with Chris Gambino that he will be doing a Grand Opening of his new strip club in Miami (15 minutes from South Beach) called Executive Sweet around the middle of September and that he would be favorable in perhaps hosting and creating interest in the new endorsement deal and exposing to the media (MTV and others) this exciting news, other sources should be a Wall Street Journal Interview, 60 Minutes, Maxim Magazine interviews on the Endorser possibly withing the next few days and weeks.
Let's hope that this all works out for the cigar industry and really helps create interest in the public, as then we all gain from this type of exposure. More people want to smoke cigars, then more retailers benefit, then manufacturers benefit and so on.
For us we gain recognition that cigar smoking is alive and well.
