  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

New cigar Porn for all to see

Well here she is finally established with a few great boxes for aging and some loose ones to smoke for now!(until I buy more)

It just so happens it fit perfectly into the last space behind my custom built bar!

Right on the end.

and for aging(most)

and the vinotemps brother to keep it company

just missing the box of Olivia series O perfectos on backorder.

One question for the more experienced agers of the group.
If I open boxes to smoke a few down the road should I just leave them sealed or will it even make a differance on the aging process as long as I keep them in the original boxes!
Thanks for looking!

That's beautifull!!!!!!

You have some excellent boxes there.

The only thing I would add is - I would store any infused cigars seperately...

As far as aging, MHO I would leave them in there own bow but I do not think it makes a diffrence.

Loaded!
Im a fireman,
That bar was built for less then 1500.00 bucks. Sure the lighting, seats and T.V.s and a few small things costs $ but I drive a honda civic. Honestly I'm 28dont have kids and that is the only reason that I can do things like build a bar like that. Sure if you had someone come in and build a bar it would be outrageous, but anytime you plan and build yourself you can amaze alot of people.
As far as someone asking me if my(our) house was smoke friendly, no way. My wife has a nose like a blood hound. I tried to talk her into a built in hvac system with dampers but I would of been better off talking to a wall!

P.s. no one answered my question.
would it be O.k. if I opened boxes(to try a few) that I still want to age or should I just leave them sealed.

Absolutely, once you begin to suspect that the cigar is nearing its peak, the only way to truly tell is to smoke one. Assuming the cigar has passed its sick period and ammonia factor is fading I would burn one at least every year, when you can't smell or taste ammonia, and it most suits your pallete it is ready....then you get to smoke the whole box. Unless you have perfect conditions throughout the entire aging process, attempting to age beyond the peak is risky. You will begin to lose flavor if things are not perfect. The ECCJ just did an article about this with the the Davidoff London store owner, known as one of the foremost aging experts in the world. I took this info from there and paraphrased.

Also, i just have to comment on one thing. Everything in the pictures is awesome, the vinotemp, the shelves, the bar, the individuals, the boxes....wait a minute is that an Acid....seems like such a departure from the rest of your sticks. Tats, La Riquxa, Padron, El Cab, Rocky, all of those are completely opposite of Acid, in my opinion. I would be curious to hear what it is that you like, as everything except the Acid is in my vinotemp.

The acids are for the wifes that come over, get a little vino in them and want a smoke. There the acid 1s with the sangria infusion and every one of the wifes girlfriends that have 1 love them. Ofcourse not my wife she is a anti smoking Nazi. But the other wives love them. ( I also have tried them and there not really that bad) they been sitting for months now and had one a few days ago for shits and giggles. It drew and burned perfectly.
