Try some other versions of beer made with smoked malt. For those that don't like the intense flavor go with a smoked porter the maltiness can subdue the ashy flavor.

I think I'll be bottling my batch of barleywine this week that I made with peat smoked malt that has aged with oak for three months.
I'll definitely check it out. I have a couple of real good beer shops around here that I'll check into and see what they say and have available. I'm always up for trying new beers and giving them a shot. I'm more of a hophead, but I don't discriminate. :D
