BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE
Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

The only maduro is from Cohiba... they aren't cheap and IMO, aren't that good. But others like them so each their own. Other cigars with dark wrappers are the Edicion Limitadas every year. Again, not cheap but they will give you the fuller maduro-ish flavor you want.
If you really want maduros, stick to NC's. I would recommend just trying to get some cuban 5ers or samplers and see what you like. Keep in mind that if you have been a full flavor NC kind of guy, you probably won't be "wowed" by cc's at first. It can be an adjustment so don't give up on cc's after a few tries, just smoke one every now and then and after awhile, see what you think.
If you like spicy cigars, try Partagas. Ramon Allones can be a good full flavor type of cigar. There have been a lot of cigars coming out with darker and darker wrappers... look for dark wrappers when buying.

My switch to cc started with Bolivar. Everyone has different tastes though. Personally I would steer clear of Partagas, the floral notes are a turn off. I would also steer clear of the lgc. Not true to the Marca and just a meh cigar for the $$$. Can't stress enough that palettes differ and agree with Ryan on sampling different stuff before buying boxes. Even in a sampler you could get a cigar that's off, sick, or just a plain dud.

Had a mag46 from 05 recently, really nice smoke and I'm guessing you're looking at about $9/each which isn't bad
I've been hearing a lot about the '05 Mag 46s. Any particular factory code or month to look for? Or are they pretty consistent?
Damn, I'm gonna need more storage...
I'm not an expert here however some other Brothers were just having this same discussion about the 05 Mag 46 and the general consensus was that after close to 10 years in the card board petacas means that if you really want to get the most out of these your going to have to give them some long term TLC in an empty cab box. A suggestion that was given was to look at the '11 Connie 1s.
Just another option and there were some who did say the 05 Mags were good after 3-4 months rest in the cab, best after a year.

I personally would much rather have those 11 Connie 1's over the 05 Mags. The vendor is solid but I'm just not sold on those cigars. Think about it, how do a ton of 05 Mag 46's just show up out of the blue after 7-8 years? They might be good cigars to smoke as plenty of people have tried them and been happy, but I'm just not sold.

That's actually a real good point. Why are there so many on the market right now? Hadn't thought of that.
