  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Hello there. I am new to the cigar sceen. I find that cigars are a HUGE stress releaver for me. My co-worker (billthecat on here) has told me to check this place out. As of right now, my favorite cigar is the JR Ultimate (Maduro) cigar because of its sweet/nutty flavor. Can anyone else offer a recommendation for a good cigar like that one? I do not know much about cigars, only what bill has told me about them. I will take any help i can get. I want to explore new cigars, but i don't want to waste money. I am barely keeping a float as is, haha. Thank you for all of your help on this subject!

I have never had one of those cigars so I can't be of much help there.

One good thing to do is get involved in the Newbie Sampler Trade,Link, you'll be able to get a very good variety of smokes for a great price as well as a sort of "mentor" to answer any questions you may have about the cigars you receive.

Also, post here too...Link

Where does it come from, who makes it, where do i find it, whats it taste like (to you)? Thank you again for all the welcome comments!

:welcome: I too am unaware of the JR cigar experience, however, when you use the description, sweet and nutty, then I would recommend one of my favorite bundled cigars, the LaUnica Maduro #200. Can be had for about $55 on the net.

:welcome:

another cheap but good cigar is the Sancho Panza double Maduro, chip and yummy.
Sure it's not the fanciest smoke, but it's very very nice.
I also like CAO Brazilia, CAO Cameroon and Cx2 and Mx2.
go, I like so many it's not even funny.

you know what, I just had another, different size though. the one I had yesterday was 6.5x48 or so, the one today a 7x50, tasted like nothing, I mean nothing, just smoked like crazy but no flavor and the one yesterday was so tasty, don't know what happened there. I threw it out after 5 minutes, weird,
trying a CAO 65th anni right now, we'll see how those are

Welcome.

Keep in mind, no matter how many recommendations you receive they will all be based on someone else's palate. What you like and what I like may be totally different. As well, what I may find sweet you may find bitter. So it's hard for me to recommend something in the same taste range as what you've had, and I've never had that particular cigar so it's even harder for me.

I would recommend you try as many cigars in that price range as possible, keeping in mind various reviews that give you a point in the right direction. Top25 cigar has thousands of reviews, and if you see the overwhelming majority describing a cigar as "nutty" and "sweet" that would be a good starting point, assuming it's in your price range.

As I've said before I may like pizza, and you may like pizza. But I may like salmon and you may hate salmon. It's the same in cigars. Hard to say man.

If I had to recommend a couple the Padron 2k Maduro is good, if you like sweet a Hemingway is up there, but can be expensive.

Welcome to the group and the wonderful world of cigars! You will find that everyone's taste is different, and recommendations say more about that person's taste than the cigar. Having said that, my personal favorites are the maduro Funete Double Chateau. If you want something with a little more bite and less nutty sweetness, try a maduro Rocky Patel Edge. But be ready for a nicotine buzz from the Edge... :bottle:
