  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

New torch: recommendations?

I have a few relatively inexpensive torches that I am not exactly unhappy with, but I have been looking into getting a high quality one for a while now. Does anyone have anything they really dig and could recommend? Not really fussy about brand, number of flames, etc., just want something reliable, preferably w/ a big reservoir, and hopefully sub $100, though I'd be willing to stretch a little bit if it were something really enticing. Thanks in advance.

haha that's GREAT UnBanded! as if i needed a reason to buy another kitchen toy!

i WAS kind of looking for something a little more portable though.
Flame lock, HUGE capacity, adjustable flame with a soft/jet option...and works on creme brûlée. I love it since it uniformly lights a cigar without having to take a draw (thus minimizing any excessive heat drawn into the cigar body).

Check out my site, they are real hands on reviews http://www.cigarlighterreviews.com I have 80+ reviews currently. Hit me any question, love to help out.
Had no idea you ran this site. Was on here for about an hour last night researching. The Devils site has nice deals on bugatti b2002 (don't outbid me though)
Glad to hear you were on my site, makes it all worth it. No worries, I'm not a dealer or bidding! LOL. As CLR and my Twitter account says "Just a guy that likes cigar lighters, frustrated not seeing enough real world pics and reviews. Now theres a place to fill this void missing from our world!" I started it very innocently for that reason and since has grown into the popularity it has today. A lot of work, but personally very gratifying from the feedback and traffic CLR receives helping cigar lovers on the hunt for a new torch. Purposely, never accepted a lighter from a manufacturer to date. It is truly my own opinion. No pressure to be positive on a lighter because of a hand out. Also, always welcome to feel free to leave a comment on CLR of a reviewed lighter.

Check out the Bugatti B2002 where the guy left negative feedback and President of Integral found my site and replied leaving his phone number. He ended up getting hooked up by Integral. Without my site he would still be hosed. That was very cool for me!

Dang, I just blabbed forever about CLR. Sorry about that! LOL.

Ya I saw that. Even after the guy bashed the company he still hooked him up. To hear you don't take manufacturer hand outs like most reviewers makes the site that much better. keep up the good work. Thank You.

I have been using the Bugatti B-1 for about a year and a half and have been very happy with it. It is VERY well built and has never failed me. MSRP is $100 on it but I scored mine for $17 on Cbid

http://www.cigarlighterreviews.com/2012/11/bugatti-b-1-torch-lighter-review.html

About a month ago I also picked up a Palio for $22 on Cbid. http://www.lightersdirect.com/Palio.606/Palio+Lighter+Gunmetal.20608.html

Haven't used it a lot but so far it has performed well. It has a view window on it which is nice but the best feature is that is has a HUGE reservoir. I've only refilled it twice but was able to light 23 cigars the first time and 25 the second time before it went empty.

Much appreciated  At least you know what you are reading is a real hands on opinion and not "bought" for a friendly write up. Just posted another new table top review I have been working :ccool:

jerseyjetset - Personally, if I was to only have one lighter would likely go Xikar dual or triple torch. The no proof of purchase lifetime warranty is the best in the business IMO. It goes down, take to local B&M, they hand you a new one, you walk out happy with no hassles or shipping charges. Also, some of the "other" companies warranties are about as good as a warranty on carpet.

Definitely one of the advantages to a single torch lighter. One jet = less refills. Glad it still running strong for you.
