  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Well the Oilers are out of the playoff picture and are in rebuild mode. Hopefully they can snag the 1st overall pick in the 2010 entry draft.

The Red Wings are still in it but its a tight race in the West.
They play the Predators tomorrow. A game needed badly by the wings.
They were embarrassed by the Canucks 6-3 Wednesday.
Injuries have killed them this season.
Plus our starting goaltender was out with the flu so we have a rookie in.
He is doing good for a rookie I have to say.
A few bad games here and there, but overall solid goal tending.

I'm going to the next couple of Oilers games. Minnesota and Jersey.
Sweet. I live in Indiana so I can't see the Red Wings play unless i travel to Chicago or Columbus. Detroit is a little farther.

I go watch the Indianapolis Ice every once in a while.
Minor league champs last year I think.
Jack Johnson from the Kings played for them.

I believe he is jesting. After the Olympics, the NHL looks like slo mo.
Yeah cause all the countries are fighting for the world championship.
There are no friends on other teams in the Olympics.
Rafalski from USA creamed Filppula from Finland and they both play on the Red Wings.

There is way more hitting also because they can't fight in the Olympics.

You will see the hitting in the playoffs too. They don't hit as much in the regular season because they don't want to get hurt and they aren't trying as hard. I will have to pick a team to cheer for in the Playoffs and it will depend on which players I pick up in my playoff pool.

You play fantasy hockey? I have never tried that.
I play fantasy college football and the bracket for March Madness.

I think the playoffs will be interesting this year. I wonder if the Sharks will make it past the first round this year.

I am always in a pool. Sharks are a much better team now that they have Heatley.

Heatley, Marleau and Thronton is a pretty killer first line.

Yes..Heatley is great. He showed it at the Olympics. I don't know if he will help them a drastic amount in the playoffs though. We shall see...

Well, Detroit-SJ would be a sweet first round match-up. Still a lot of games to play in the regular season though so it may not end up that way.

Are you serious?

The NHL is the National Hockey League
Like The NFL or MLB
Except NHL is the best in my opinion.
I was just kidding... I grew up in MN and have always been a fan of the NHL. Not so much anymore since I live in the Seattle area now and I moved away from MN right before the Wild started up, but I'm still a fan.

I went to the first USA/Switzerland Olympics game and I had a blast watching the entire games. Starting the NHL back up just seems so anticlimactic after the exciting Olympics.
