Seems NJ wants their money. I can't pinpoint a purchase of that exact price, but I did make one on that exact date. (From UpDown Cigar). Son of a bitch....

I've seen this on another forum. It seems to only happen if you order from Chicago (Which is why I never made a purchase for Jackals from Casa de Montecristo).
You get hit with the city's 30% plus NJ wants their cut.

You shouldn't be paying tax to the city or state that the cigars originated from, since they are being shipped out of state/jurisdiction... I know that PA sends a letter every year, to report groceries, etc that you purchased out of state and did not pay tax on, that were consumed in PA. Odds are someone got caught reselling this in NJ, flipped on their supplier, NJ goes after supplier, Supplier hands over list of shipments to NJ Tax Dept. Sales Tax audits can get weird, really quickly
