  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I was wondering what everyone thinks of the new Nub cigar. I've tried each one and didn't care for any of them accept the one with the Habano wrapper. Yet that one, I really liked! Has anyone smoked anything with any similar characteristics to this smoke that they could suggest. I'm fairly new to this wonderful hobby, and am still trying to figure out what i like, though i really liked that nub, and was hoping somone with a similar preference could help me out. Thanks!

Only had the Cameroon. It wouldn't be bad if you could get them for a couple bucks, but the $4+ price tag is too much IMO. And I'm not a fan of the humongous ring gauges.
That being said, when we get them into the shop they will sell like mad to college kids and people who smoke cigars so others think they're cool. They're the perfect cigar for those crowds.

I like em, they are not great, but for the price I think they are pretty good, I am not sure I will order more, but they are worth a try. For the price I will grab a box of fuente SunGrown DCs or DPG Blacks before nubs.

If you like the Habano, try the Oliva Serie V Churchill. It has a very similar taste profile. Plus it's a better value for your money and it doesn't make your jaw hurt when you smoke it.

That scares me cause I got a fiver in a multi box split and the Habano was the first I smoked and was not impressed at all. I like the ring gage but was not enamored with the flavor profile or length. Will let the others lie for awhile and try again.

The Habano is definitely the pick of the litter.

I had the Connecticut Torp and I have to say it wasn't bad. My expectations were low, but 'twas ok, mild, creamy, no bitterness, windtunnel draw. This was a gift and can't see ever buying them when there's so much else to smoke.

After reading through these comments, I'm a lot less excited by the Nub line. Big ring gauges have never been my thing, but I was hoping these would be an exception. I'll still have to try one, but my hopes aren't as high.

That's probably a good thing. I think there was so much hype about these that some people naturally went into them with unrealistically high expectations.

Smoked the Connecticut yesterday.. I also had low expectations, however it really surprised me - it was pretty good! I found it way to spicy for my taste though.

Agreed. I think the hype was so high they thought it would look and taste like gold plated chocolate coffee wrapped in leather. Makes you wonder if the over-marketing actually is hurting nub in the end. On the other hand, practically everyone has or is planning on trying one.

I have to agree with Tegu. AF Sungrown or RP Sungrown before a NUB but, I have a couple more to try.

Just finished a Habano. Excellent draw and construction but overall- just good. Not enough to make me run out and buy more. Interesting that everything I've heard says the Connneticut is the best, and I agree but people here seem to like the Habano.
Did anyone see the Cigar Report article- said the Nubs are not bad for a "10 minute smoke". 10 minutes my A**. Short smokes- but they last.
