  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Nubs, Margarita's and good friends

Had a great day yesterday, good pal came over with his wife and kid.

We grilled burgers, drank Margarita's and of course smoked cigars.

I had picked up two Nub 464T Habano's and two 464T Camaroon for this occasaon to for us to try.

While the gals and the kid entertained themselves in the pool and hot tub, we light up the Habano's first. Wow, I'm impressed and will have to get some more of these, nice from the head to the foot, med to full with some complexity and nice flavors, well construced, etc. They do meet their claim, it never got harsh the whole thing was consistant. Johns big only complaint was over too soon, about an hours smoke.

After that we continued to drink, joined the rest of the family and relaxed.

After, a couple of hours John decided it had been way too long since he'd had a cigar so we went back to our smoking area, on the covered pourch. The Nub Camaroon I didn't like though. To me it was too harsh and overpowered me. Now to qualify that I'd been drinking, this was my second cigar of the day, and I'm not an everyday smoker. Maybe I'd like it under the right circumstances, but on this day I put it down after about 10 minutes. John who can smoke med to full smokes back to back all day long, liked it more than I, and said he'd buy some for himself.

Anyway, it was a good day, I also pierced the kids ear, he had made black belt a while back and it was the reward. I'm kind of the go to guy for my crowd when somebody needs their naughty bits perfereated, and although an ear is boaring, it was still cool.

Anyway, hope all of your weekends are going well, try a NUB if you get the chance, we both liked the Habano best so far.

I picked up a NUB variety sampler from cigar.com. Came in last week. Had the Camaroon on Friday. I thought is was fairly mild but a nice flavor. The Habano was yesterday at a family gathering. More to my flavor liking but the one I had started with a very hard draw. It did loosen up a bit after 3/4" or so with a very nice plume after that. I think it'll be a good "once in a while" workin' on the bike smoke. :smokingbo

I looked up the Camarron and it's listed as milder than the Habano, I've gotta do that one again, too much booze I think, but I'm with you, the Habano is def worth another ride.

Yeah they're pretty good. Look for the best deals. Not sure it's quite a $5 smoke. I have a Connecticut that I'll gift a bro for today, he likes milder smokes. I do have another Habano but I think for Memorial Day, I will have this Rocky Patel Fusion MM. :smokingbo

Almost EVERYbody I have heard from who has sampled the Nub wrappers likes the Habano the best, including me. I can think of only one guy who preferred one of the other two, and now I can't remember whether it was the CT or the Cammie.

BTW, how did you like the combo of cigars and margaritas? I had been under the impression that citrus flavored drinks don't mix too well with cigars...

It goes just fine if your goal is to enjoy a drink and a cigar, it's not a great plan if your trying to find that subtle hint of seven year old vanilla bean, aged for a year between the breasts of a dark haired virgin that some review told you about.

Sometimes I don't like to think that hard. Also, I like a shot of frozen Goldschlager cinnamon schnapps with a cigar on occasion.
