  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Oh my my, oh Mi Barrio

I know very little about this stick, but am smoking my first now (toro). All you need to know is this--you've got to try this thing! Buy one, rent one, con somebody out of one, steal one from a baby, whatever. If you're a fan of strong spicy cigars, this is one of Pepin's finest!

I know this is from the United Tobacco gang, and it may be their very best (and I love the Cubao and 601s). The best description I can give is that it's like the 601 "Verocu.". Strong, VERY spicy, especially in the first third. A nice touch of sweetness, leathery twang, very rich. Either I'm just in a good mood from vacation or this thing is frackin great, lol.

I'm still thinking about this stick and wishing I had another with me on this trip, lol. I might settle for a San Cristobal tonight :)

Yea, they are pricey, but actually worth it in my opinion. Definately do a couple singles, though, rather than a box. I liked the toro more than the double corona, for example.

I've seen sampler's on sale here and there, though, and I've won them on cigarbid before for as low as $7/stick for a single--not sure how lucky that was, though, or how often they come up. I just saw a nice Pepin I'd never had and bid on it, lol (yea, that's why I don't do cigarbid anymore, dangerous place!).

I've had two. One was the best cigars I have had and I've had many, the second one was okay. I'll have to try another one soon. Maybe tonight.

For all the hype surrounding this stick I was expecting to love it. I actually found it rather sweet, with alot of citrus. I was kind of let down by it. I guess after reading your post I will have to revisit this stick.

The one I smoked back when I posted this was probably 6 months old. People always talk about how cigars can loose strength with age, but seldom talk about how cigars can sometimes gain body with age--I think these do. I think the LP#9 might gain body with a little down time too.

I know they carry these at Tobacco Road in Sacramento and the price point, even by Cali standards, is not that bad.

I am going to pick one up on Wednesday and see what all the hype is about.

Sounds about right on from my experience. Vanilla and citrus.
