I love the lancero's, but to put California in perspective to some of you guys. The shop we herfed at this past weekend, had the lancero for $10.99 a stick. they are about $3.88 if you buy them online by the box. I know we are not the worst tobacco tax, but it is pretty brutal, when the "location" tax kicks in as well.
I am afraid I would have to move. Of course at those prices I probably would never have started cigars to begin with.
:crying:

I have had several Vs and they remain among my favorites, but there is a fairly consistent wrapper problem. They tend to want to split, like they are very thin. I have read on another forum that others have had a similar problem. But this will not prevent me from more in the future.

But do you ever fell guilty for not supporting a local B&M? I buy 95% from the 'net and the rest from a B&M near me. The owner is great and always gives me freebies, but I only spend a fraction at his store that I spend on the internet.

If i go to a shop and am planning on smoking, sure I buy something. I might buy small accessiries at a B&M, but should I feel guilty for not buying cigars there? They do not feel guilty marking up an addtional $2-$3 over MSRP why should I feel guilty for going somewhere else? To answer your question..I rarely feel guilty for anything I do. Well the other day I flipped off another driver for cutting me off and it was little old lady. I felt a little guilty...for a minute or 2.

Nice review. I first smoked this cigar last summer. The atmosphere had a definite effect on the enjoyment. I was sitting on a patio at a pub in Wrigleyville before the game. I have had a couple since then, but no comparison to the first experience. It just shows that timing can have such a great effect on the enjoyment of a cigar. A great Smoke!

I agree w/ ur review. The construction on these is also top-notch. The ones I've had have all had a razor-sharp burn and a perect draw. The stick stays cool even if you pull on it a little too frequently. I am a Padron '64 guy and think these are right up there with 'em.

Smoked a Torpedo that I got from Ocat tonight. First thing that got me was the construction, wow. I also have this thing about spinning it around in my mouth so that no little bits break off during the smoke. Noticed how nice and oily this was. The pre-light draw was perfect. Lit fast and began to burn even. Spicy at the foot, to tell the truth it was kicking my ass like Bruce Lee. I guess this is a fuller bodied smoke than I am used too. But then it calmed down. I was having a great conversation with a friend about a business opportunity (may be going to the sandbox). Wow, just wow. I started keeping a Cigar Journal and what I try to do is put down my comments and then compare it to reviews to see how my tasting skills are becoming refined. I will be picking up more of these.

Mercop, I feel exactly the same way about the V's. One of my employees gave me one to sample a while back, and it was absolutely phenomenal. Once I saw how inexpensive they were, I decided to keep my eyes open for a box. I ended up finding one online recently and snatched it up. They're a great, all-around tasty cigar, and they make a fine "go to" stick for when you're looking in your humidor and just want something you know will provide high levels of yummy satisfaction.

If you decide to take that job out here in the Sandbox and happen to find yourself passing through Kuwait, hit me up and we'll enjoy a lil Herf. I've got a Cohiba Siglo III with your name on it. I'm a Philly boy myself, so I'm sure we'll be able to find something to shoot the shit about. :)

guys, try the Serie V lancero. They are about $140 a box of 36. I like them the best, but I am a Lancero Guy these days.
