  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Had no frigging clue where to put this thread, but figured here was good enough. To keep the other thread from getting out of control:

Given that there is probably no way in hell any of us are going to come by a bottle for close to retail, I wanted to guage interest on who would be willing to chip in for a bottle of Fall 2006 George T. Stagg from Ebay or an online vendor (probably Ebay) to be shipped directly to Todd's for the herf. Running rate is about $130 total. You don't need a whole lot of this stuff at a time so the more people that pitch in the better both to get the price down and to make sure we aren't leaving half a bottle at Todd's to be used in...gotta swallow the bile...Bourbon and Cokes.:frownno:

So, so far:
Myself
Mike
Clay

Who else?

Mike. With just three of us we would need about $40 from each of us to secure a bottle. I can knock that down to $30 each if we try to get it for $90 total but it's very unlikely it will go for that low ($70 bid price + $20). At any rate, I wouldn't try bidding on it again until right before the end of the auction in 4 days time.

Hah, posting at the same time. We can "buy now" for $130 total. That deal should be recurring for a little while at least so we can probably afford to hold off doing that and try for something cheaper. If we have to do that, with three of us it's about $44 per person. If need be I can certainly chip in a bit more as I was expecting to pay $60 or so for a bottle.

OK, let's see what I can do on the one being auctioned. If I can't get it for a bargain I'll grab a "buy it now". Thanks Mike!

I need to call Todd if he doesn't get online soon so he knows it's coming, lol.

OK, currently high bid on Ebay for $61 + $20 shipping. I put in my max bid and we'll just see if it sticks or not. Better to give it a try now and be able to just hit the Buy Now on that other bottle than risk losing the other option I guess. Will keep you posted.

I'd use Buy it now if I were you. It will definitely get close enough to that amount that it won't matter. You might also contact the seller to see if they will comp the price of shipping if you pay $130. Not that I have a dog in this hunt I just like to pretend I've found a bottle. It's not even legal for Tennesseans to buy "collector's" liquor from the net.

Eh, it's already been out bid.

Crap, they will only ship to my confirmed ** addy. Need to talk to Todd and see if he can buy it. I don't want to have to worry about flying with this or shipping it if I can help it.
