  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Oooohhhh I'm Mad!!!!

Last week I'm inviting a couple of guys at work to the herf this weekend and one of them says I should tell Jody because her dad is a big cigar smoker. So I hit her up and asked her to bring him a flyer. She seemed excited so when I came to my desk to print up a flyer, My Oliva Vs showed up at the same time. So I gave her a flyer and a cigar to bring to him. She said she would give it to him the next evening. The next day at work I was talking to another guy and he had a tell tale cello flag sticking out of his shirt pocket. So I asked him what he had and he pulled out an Oliva V lancero. He saw the puzzled look on my face and said one of the girls gave it to him. A little peeved at this point, but whatever. I like the guy who got the cigar and would have given him one had he been around. Today i saw her again and asked if she gave the flyer to her dad, she said YES and the he would try to come. Then I asked if he liked the smoke and she said YES:argh: and that he told her to tell me thank you for it. What a F@Cking bitch.

I'm going to call her out on it tomorrow. I figure I'll bring another cigar and ask her to bring that one to her dad, because the first one never made it to him and see what she has to say then.

I hope you get to meet the old man and tell him what a f'in dusche bag his daughter is. And then tell him that the first stick that was meant for him was a "pre-emb". Ooooooo. If he's a cigar man, I'm sure he will concur.

You know, this sounds a bit off to me...

I mean, if the father does come to your herf, then the daughter must already KNOW that you will ask him about the cigar...so unless she's a complete idiot (in which case, have her fired) then she would not lie about giving him the cigar. Otherwise, perhaps she didn't tell her father at all, and so she knows you won't get the chance to figure it out (in which case, have her fired).

Otherwise, there could be some huge coincidence where she had a cigar lying around and simply gave this other guy the wrong one by mistake or something else random...a bit thin, I'll admit, but in my experience it's better to assume someone is innocent first, then if not trap them into a confession--at which point you have someone who owes you a big favor, which might come in handy.

I agree that the evidence is damning, but there's something very American about the whole innocent until proven guilty thing. Just my 2 cents.

THis is awesome. We have office politics, cigars (specifically V Lanceros), vengeance seeking, and the reference to a woman as a "bitch" all in one thread. That must be unprecedented. Keep us posted, I am definitely intrigued.

Sounds to me like the girl and the guy are trading "cigars" :jitb:

How about a dog rocket (relabeled with the Oliva band) with an exploding cigar bang to give to her dad. :devilhead

I can see your point from just having read my post, but the guy who ended up with it told me how it happened. He walked by, the same day I gave it to her and commented on the cigar. She immeadiatly asked if he wanted it. I can't imagine she acctually gave the flyer to her dad, because like you said, I would know. So I have another cigar today. A Flor De Oliva, that I figure will never get to her dad either, but I have to call her out on it. Maybe I can call her out and get my cigar back too.

All I really wanted was to get some more local smokers down to the beach before they outlaw smoking on county beaches too.

I think it's probably a case of her just not wanting to contribute to what she perceives as a bad habit for her father. That doesn't excuse her lying to your face though.

I would call her on her blatant lie to your face, but tell her that if she didn't agree with it or had no intention of telling her father, that it would have been more appropriate to just state to your face that she would prefer to stay out of it, because she disagrees with her father smoking in the first place.

Some people avoid confrontation by lying, unfortunately it often backfires when they are caught & then targeted for confrontation because of it.

I'm not tryin to be Mr "Psycho-analisis'... Just sayin...

The fun is going up to her and telling her exactly what you know and then see her squirming trying to either lie about it or explain it without looking like a total shit for brains. All the while she's talking you keep asking her WHY she would do such a thing when the cigar was meant for her Dad? Was she trying to steal your good deed and put it on another? Did she not know that you would find out and ask the Dad how he liked the smoke? The more questions you ask her the more she will feel like the dumbest wench in the valley. Nothin says fun like grillin a lyin woman!
