  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Why is it so incredibly difficult for me to find an Opux X to try?

Today, I asked JRs on Fifth Avenue NYC if they carried Opus X. I got a bellowing laugh, followed by a sarcastic "Dream on!"

So honestly,

#1. Is it really that difficult to find one of these so-called masterpieces?

#2. What can I expect to pay for a single when if I find them?

oh snaps, be ready brotha. Time and place for an opus, but I hope your packing some ammo. lol. i'm kumar by the way. Opus are good though, just hang out a bit and i'm sure you'll find a connection on those opus, davidoff makes some good smokes.
I'm a big fan of Davidoff but from everything I've read here, I apparently have not even smoked a real cigar until I've tried an Opus.

real cigar? allot of GREAT cigars out there, chk out the opus x bbmf review i put up, chk the 2nd to last vid out, or one of those.
I only meant that lots of people put the Opus on a pedestal. I really, really want to try one but I cannot seem to find one anywhere. I have looked in Cleveland OH, Buffalo NY, Pittsburgh PA and New York City to no avail.

You should try one, but I think most of them are overrated...MUCH better cigars for the price, for sure...

I have some I can spare, if you can't find one, pm me your address, and I will send one to you...along with something better :)

Hey I do not have a ton of OPUS but I do think they are very good. If I had the money to keep buying them I would but I don't so I find great cigars for a little less money.

The Opus are ok, but for the price there are better cigars. If you do come across one don't smoke it thinking about how much you paid for it, you'll be dissapointed.

It's just a cigar, there isn't any naked ladies rolled up in there waiting to jump out at any certain point...it won't make you run faster or jump higher...won't end world hunger. It's just a botique cigar put out by a major manufacturer.

I haven't had them that often but have enjoyed the ones I have tried. Two pricey for me:eyebrow: I was at my local shop and they had robustos Opus X. I like the larger sizes. Give them a call they will ship it to ya http://www.atlanticcigar.com/

Holts always has some sampler with an Opus X in it & Holts charges at or below MSRP on their AF stuff.

Dpmrpa - your local is Atlantic eh? I go there once in a while - great store! Lowest Padron prices I've ever found.

I'll let you know if I head up that way, maybe we can meet up for a smoke. Let me know if you come down to my neck of the woods too - I'm right between Famous & CI.

I think Opus are a good cigar for the price, if you compare Opus to other cigars in their price range, I think they are as good or better than many. The problem is finding them at MSRP. If you can get them at MSRP, they are a good smoke for the money and well worth it. Opus have a unique flavor profile that many find very enjoyable, they may not be worthy of the hype, but they are great cigar, IMHO.

I tell you what, lets trade, I will send you an Opus, you send me your favorite Davidoff. PM if you are interested.

Edit: And by the way check out vitolas.net for the msrp of them $8-$15 range for most of them, you can usually only get them a couple times a year, but when they are released it is not too difficult to find a few at or near MSRP. Finding Quantity is a bit more difficult.

While Opus are very tasty, I think Anejo's at retail are far and away a better QPR. I enjoy an Opus every now and again......I just enjoy an Anejo a little more often b/c of the price/availability. Both are still fantastic smokes.

I love opus... With that said they come out at least twice a year, fathers day and Christmas time, usually a month before each holiday. You have to find a shop with an opus account. I asked Carlito once what the secret was because I find the opus x cigar to be a complete miracle in tobacco. There is nothing out there with that amazing flavor profile period. I love many different cigars and I have some opus but I don't smoke them all the time I love to be in the mood for that so very complex cigar. You know what Carlito told me the secret was... "He said it was in the shit!" LMAO! So True, he has miracle shit!

They can be very good to exquisite, but their taste profile is certainly not for everybody.
I prefer them with 3 years of age or more on them

well i feel that there is definitely some debate on the matter. as someone who has never smoked one (much less seen one) i volunteer my services. send one of each to me, and i will determine whether or not they are better than my regular smokes (which are whatever i can get)
