  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I bow before the Opus God of cigardom,,,if you will call Sabor Havana ( google them for address and phone number as they have them all over in S. Florida ) and ask them for pricing on whatever size you want I'm sure they will help you. I lived in Palm Beach Gardens for about a year and this place was right down the road from me and ALWAYS had a fully stocked Opus inventory at sticker. I just took it for granted and would stop by and purchase 2 or 3 a week and when I moved from there to Atlanta suddenly my world caved in.

I've checked this website www.cubancigarwebsite.com and I see no signs that these were ever made... Do you have a pic? The black velour bag makes it sound like one of those special travel humi deals that habanos SA releases... This sounds interesting.

Gibbleguts told me of one that could be. The thing is it has both the red band and below that one, the black band. It is the Partagas Serie D No. 4 Reserva, which has the same concept of the Monte Reserva: aged cuban tobacco (from the 2000 harvest) rolled some time later (3 years in this case) so that ye could try the aged profile of CCs

Yeah I've had that one but from the sound of it it's a Black PSD4 band with all the PSD4 writing in gold??? Those reservas were released in 2005 with aged tobacco from 2000.

Holts always has some sampler with an Opus X in it & Holts charges at or below MSRP on their AF stuff.

Dpmrpa - your local is Atlantic eh? I go there once in a while - great store! Lowest Padron prices I've ever found.

I'll let you know if I head up that way, maybe we can meet up for a smoke. Let me know if you come down to my neck of the woods too - I'm right between Famous & CI.
Dennis is a good guy A.J. You guys would get along great!

While Opus are very tasty, I think Anejo's at retail are far and away a better QPR. I enjoy an Opus every now and again......I just enjoy an Anejo a little more often b/c of the price/availability. Both are still fantastic smokes.
I've heard this from several others. I've never smoked an Anejo, WOAM, or an Opus, but from many I know who smoke them all, they rank them in that order. I put the Opus on my "wish list" though, just to see what the fuss was about. My local never gets Opus, they do get Anejos though (and I think they still have some).

I have only about a dozen or so Opus. I have smoke a variety of them. I like them but won't spend much money on them. If I had to choose Opus X or a Padron Aniv. Series. I would go with padron. But I absolutly love the smell of an Opus Being smoked.

I have to say I don't come across much for peppery or spicey, but more citrusy. But that is me.

My advice, If you can buy a couple for a decent price, or trade for a couple. Do so to try them. It's worth it.
The citrus was noticable in the one I had more than the spice.

Opus is one of the few cigars in its price range that is worth the price. I prefer the 2005. I've had some others and only found one lacking due to its tight draw.

For the noobs around here, if you haven't noticed, Wade is the Opus whore on this board.

I have to say that the Opus have a very unique flavor that no other cigar maker has come close to making. This is one of the big reasons that I am also an Opus fan.
