Opus X Nicotine Strength

A couple months ago I smoked an Opus X Super Belicos (52 or 54 ring gauge) that was 3 years old. The flavors were unbelievable but the Nicotine strength still almost made me sick. Are all Opus X killer in the strength department? I have only smoked maybe 2-3 opus in my life but they all seemed to be overpowering accept for the Petit Lancero. What are yalls thoughts?

About the same as yours...... Seems like if you don't take your time with them they can hurt ya. But the funny thing is the xXx is still my favorite little but kicker.

Honestly the only cigar I get a nicotine kick from is a T52. I've never had any issues with Opus's.

Of the Opus I've smoked, I only get bowled over by fresh sticks. Most I've smoked with a few years of age are pretty mellow (still get a bit of a head buzz, but no cold sweats or nausea :barf

Opus always kicks my ass. The weird thing is I'll be fine for about 2/3 of the smoke. Then the last third hits me like a brick all of a sudden.

as J said, take your time with the opus. i find aging really mellows them,,, the fresh opus are real ass kickers!! imo.

Oddly, I've never gotten nic-sick from.. well.. Anything. From fresh xXx to 3-4 year (of other vitola), T52 DC, etc, etc... I just don't feel it.

Weight? Age? I dunno why.

I thought the Opus Love Affair was below the full strength mark. Give that one a try, if you can find them.

Never had nicotine issues with an Opus. The LFD chisel DL now that has some nicotine. Always need to drink a coke when smoking one.

For some reason Opus X cigars are some of the only cigars I find to make me "Nic-Sick".

Have to watch when I smoke my only Opus. Had an Anejo that almost killed me. 2 hours on the bathroom floor. Not a fun time.

I've smoked about 4 Opus with 8-10 years on them and they're STILL full-strength cigars!

Could that be from the additional time spent in the humidor?

I have only had a buzz once from a cigar, and it was an opus. It was mild, but I felt it. I have my nasty habit of chewing copenhagen, so nic normally does not bother me. I think I must have skipped dinner that night.
