Other Drew Estate Sticks

The La Vieja Habanas are alright sticks, nothing that's going to rock your world, but alright. And they're pretty cheap. I found the Connecticut blah, but I don't usually like them anyway. The Maduro was better. I've not personally had the Chateau Real, but have not heard bad things about them so would give it a go if I came across some. I do not care for any of the infused stuff, which they do a lot of. The reason being the sweetened cap that always seems to adorn them. Disgusting. As for the JdN stuff...the Antano, both 1970 and Dark Corojo, are pretty good. The 1970 is very strong and leathery. The Dark Corojo is strong as well, but tastier in my opinion...and smells wonderfully of molasses :drool:. I've also had the Cabinetta and while I didn't particularly care for it all that much, others do like it. I still think the LP stuff is the best they make :thumbsup:. Hope that helps.

I think the issue is that most of the smokers on this site are serious smokers. With that said many stray away from infused and the lower dollar cigars. So when smoking cigars like Liga Privada and Tatuaje are the norm, then the low budget DE smokes are no where as good as their best offerings. I may not like them but I'll recommend people to Acids when I'm working at the B&M. As it was said they're a top seller at many shops. I hate stocking that damn cabinet let alone smell someone smoking one. However money talks and rather than lose the income by not selling smart shops have them in stock.
Honestly some of the natural line was enjoyable when I first started smoking. I think they are made with pipe tobaccos that are cured like cigar tobacco. Don't quote me on that though. The whole natural line is more of a dessert cigar than anything if you ask me. Pair it up with a sweet after dinner drink and some dessert and you're good to go.

I smoke Opus like candy!
I don't need to stick my head up a cows ass to know it smells........but I see your point. I guess if I'm guilty of anything, it's making a calculated and educated guess regarding my disdain for flavored cigars based on previous experiences with flavored cigars. :thumbsup:

You are correct.Drew Estate is only the U.S. Distributor for JDN. JDN is their own company, they have their own factory, and make their own cigars.
I've met two cigar smokers now who absolutely love Acids. While they're not my cup of tea, I can say that the KUBA KUBA is a pretty good smoke. I'll smoke one every now and again.
As for the Chateau Real blend, I think it's a very flavorful, mild cigar. It was pretty good, and I've bought a few to give out to friends who are novice cigar smokers because of their great flavor and mild strength.

+1 to the Chateau Reals. I bought a box of corona gorda maduros off CI's make-me-an-offer for something like $40, and after letting them sit (ie I forgot about them) for a year, they're a really solid smoke.

And they use to sell for $30.00 a box of 20 robusto's. Now they are around $45.00 a box of robusto's.
Was a great starter stick, still is, but not as great of a value.
Also just wanted to add. Natural's by DE aren't infused. They just have sweetened tips. Other than that they aren't flavored or infused.

I don't know which one it is, but New Years 2010, I attended a big party in florida. I gave my client an opus x Corona, and he gave me an "Acid corona" made with "Neroli" oil i believe. Not wanting to offend him, I smoked it.... It was actually a decent smoke....

Ive tried a decent amount of DE sticks. My absolute favorite, from DE and probably of any maker actually, is the LP. These things are fantastic. Yeah they're expensive, but worth it for what you get.
I also Like the Joyas a lot.
I haven't had a Chateau Real so I cant comment on those
Ive had a couple LVHs and I really don't like them. I was honestly surprised when I heard these were what got DE their start. I wonder if the blend has changed, because they are definitely not for me.
