  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I just picked up a used cpu fan (approx. 3”x3”) today from CDO for $1 and a used wall adapter for $2. Both in great shape and came with a one month guarantee (not a big deal for such a small investment but who’s complaining).
I will hard wire the fan to the wall adapter then plug it in to a lamp timer. I have plenty of those at home. I have one that can be set in 10 or 15 minute increments so I’ll probably set it to run for 10 or 15 min every hour. I’ll check it when I get home and post a picture when I rig it up.
Here's a pic of the fan setup. Nothing special, just a 12vdc cpu fan, 12vdc wall adapter and timer. I cut the connector off the fan and added one (which I already had) to match the plug on the wall adapter. You could just splice the wires together instead. Just make a bracket to mount the fan on to fit your needs and you’re good to go.
Hope this helps.
