  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Seems like Phoenix has unusually low prices on many Padilla cigars (see deals thread). I took the plunge on a box of 1932 Toros (knowing they were not mfg in Miami). A few have asked to let you all know how it turns out.

Well, I'll let them rest prior to smoking (I know, the most important criteria).

First off, I was curious that tracking said they would arrive today (Texas to NJ). Tracking showed the first scan in Bethlehem Pa. Wait a minute, sticks I order from another vendor come from there. Sure enough, the box is from "CI Fulfullment". I take it as a very good thing.

The box is from Honduras (expected). Beautiful wood box. The cigars look to be rolled very well, nice and tight with no soft spots. They smell great also. I included some pics.

The bottom line is they look great. I'm looking forward to firing one up.

Good deal. So does this mean that phoenix is a sublet of CI? It sure does to me but why would these prices be so low. Has anyone bothered asking? I just don't get it.

I must say, knowing they are from CI makes the reputability question moot for me.

Well, if CI bought out Phoenix, then maybe they are having them liquidate certian items and then focus on others--more of a specialized shop. Just a thought.

At any rate, I"m VERY tempted here, but I've never had a '32. What do you guys think of them? The '68's are on sale for $40-$45 /box as well, and I've not had one of those either.

Thoughts anyone?

I love the 32s and if I had space/cash I'd be all over a box . Things are even sweeter if it's the same tobacco that was used in the Miami factory.

I love the oscuro 32's and the regular 32's, let us know how the the Hondurans are. I would be interested in them if Ernie kept the blend the same.

Dude Nate smoke one of the Perlas we did a trade with. Those are 1932s!

Just burned one. Adam, you weren't kidding....fantastic cigar! One of the must flavorful and smooth small cigars I've ever had. It reminded me quite a bit of the one Partagas Short that I had...maybe I'm crazy...?

So yea, freakin' awesome. Wes--if you don't like them, let me know and I'll trade you for them :)

I"m on the fence here. My cigar budget this year is only $50/month. I'd be going for a box of the lanceroes, so that's basically 3 months worth of purchases. But it is a fantastic deal.

Ordered a box of robustos. Got the shipping conformation today. Now I look at their site, and I see they have the lancero back in stock at $137/box. Box split anyone?

I mean no ill will to anyone or any business, but that site is amazing if it's legit. Their prices on lots of cigars are WAY less than most. Their DPG Blue prices are at least 40 less also.... still a little scared here.

I hear you, but it was shipped to weskimad via "CI Fulfillment" in PA, so either CI bought them out and are reducing inventory, or they went belly-up and CI just bought up their stock..who knows. But apparently these are being stored in the CI warehouse-a-dor, so that's good enough for me :)

A few of their other items seemed a bit lower, but not insane like these Padillas.

So as people find more deals on this site, please post it! I'd love to try the Alec Bradly Tempus :)

Cigary43, the 1932's you won, where were they manufactured? Let's face facts, people are looking for the Padilla's produced by Pepin (in Miami or Nic). So I'm sure the Honduras cigars are tougher to move.

I'm sure that's the case. but if the tobacco itself is all the same, as everyone asserts, than it doesn't matter to me if they put it together in my grandma's basement.
