  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Cigar: Padilla 1948 (7 x 48)

Cost: Don't know. It was part of a sampler

Drink: Coca-Cola Classic (the best cola out there)

Appearance: 2 banded cigar that says "Padilla 1948" on the top band and a second band that says "BATCH No. 07 343A". This has a corojo/criollo wrapper on the cigar.

Pre-light: Just smells like your normal cigar tobacco.

Taste of the cigar: This cigar had a woodsy, and nutty taste to it. It is very bland tasting. I don't taste any spice in it.

Construction: Held an average ash. The draw was a little tight. The cigar required a few touchups, but had a razor sharp burn for the most part

Strength: This was a medium cigar.

Summary: This cigar was extremely bland and one-dimensional to me. It was hard to pick up any flavor in this cigar. I stopped smoking it with 4" left on it. I give it a 5/10

Yikes !!!!
I've enjoyed some Padillas but I have never tried a 1948. Bestcigarprices.com has them for on sale but your review has scared me off.

cant beat an icy cold coke with a churchill, except they take so long to smoke you end up having 4 cans of coke with it.. lol.

Great review

This is one of Pabilla's new ones. The original was blended by Pepin and IMO supperior to the '1968'. I thought it was a great value, everyday Pepin stick. I usually don't go for the churchills anyway, robusto for this mid-day smoke is something I'd be willing to give another try.
