This is another one of my Favorite Cigars,
As a rule I try to either buy aged or I buy with the intention to age, Except this cigar. I know everyone has their preference. And I have mine.. LOL. Maybe it is I have developed a taste early on in my cigar smoking experience with the Young Partagas 898Varn. What ever it is, I like them almost right off the truck, well not exactly .. lol, I do let them rest a bit. I tend to smoke these within 2-3 years of box code date.
When I think of these cigars, I think Spicy that has a signature of Partagas, earthy, and leather.
Just a wonderful Smoke.

Deez
Thanks!

I was looking through some of the old reviews and noticed the Party 898v review. This has become my hands down favorite cigar. The 2006 898v is just amazing. The spice is very in your face...but it never gets out of control. I believe the 06s and 07's will be considered classics in several years. Yummy.

Besides the pretty box how do they differ from the discontinued PARTAGAS PARTAGAS No.1?

Asides from the band and the box, the 8-9-8 Varnished and the Partagas Partagas No. 1 are the same size, ring gauge, weight and both have the same (or a very similar) blend. Basically, it's the same thing.

Sounds great to me! And thanks for giving us an update on your old review, Doc. It's great to hear "the rest of the story."
